mountainpete said:The 42 series was a the 40 series with the 3B diesel engine. The BJ-40 was the B diesel (up until 1980) and the BJ-42 was the 3B diesel (81 - 84). Both 24 volt electrics, just a slightly different engine and 5 speed & power steering was available factory for 83/84.
Toyota lumps them all together as 40 series trucks and the on the site they show the BJ-40 continuing to 83. Again, I guess I'm just picky
