The rear end of my truck is extremely stiff. When I go over a bump at all speeds (usually go over them slow), the rear end drops like a brick and everything in the bed hops around. I've got a set of Downy long AAL and a set of Rancho 99144. Is it the AAL or shocks that are causing this stiff ride? Is there anything relatively cheap to do to fix it, or am I better off getting a set of deavers or alcans with some bilsteins?

going with bilstein 5150s in the lighter valving will help, however but they ain't cheap.

best is to get rid of the AALs and go with leafpks and better shocks. but...pricey

I wouldn't think the 3 would suffice. I've got a shell, and I might be having my aftermarket bumper fitted with a swing out tire carrier, so I'll be having a lot of weight in the back end.

then go with Alcans. Deavers tend to work well for flex but not for load capacity.
