It's about time to do some maint. to my front end.
I was wondering for the guys that have used non-factory reman'd calipers, how do you like them so far. I've read a lot of posts of other board members that have used calipers from napa, vatozone, etc..
I was about to order some from Toyota of Dallas when I found out that they were like 275each side Even with their awesome prices that's still a lot.

try to find some akebono's. they've got the quality reman'd stuff when it comes to brakes. got me some ake reman'd calipers & pro ACT pads...they work awesome with the brembo discs...

if your binders just need a freshen up...why not do a rebuild?

Or if you're rolling on 16's or better, why not upgrade to the tundra calipers? Just a thought.

My experience is with whatever NAPA sells, no worries after 15k wheeling and on the road.

How many miles you got on yours? I'm at 200k, so I'm thinking of doing the same thing. I've been really neglecting the brake system, but it's been working fine. I've never changed out the rear shoes, or bled the system. Just been putting in new pads in front when they wear out.

Tundra calipers sounds very tempting. Nice write up. As much as I want to mod more, my eye keeps on eyein' the new tundras when I pass by the dealerships. Thanks for the reply. NAPA has always been good with their warranties.

Well, I should say, I do check the rears every 30k miles or so and they always have meat on them. So that's why I've never changed them out. It's about time to check again though. I noticed that the wheel cylinders were leaking a bit, so I may just get some rebuilt ones too. Do a whole brake overhaul.

I just installed tundra brakes on my 04, they are really good. NAPA reman'd calipers are working perfectly, and if I would have just gone with NAPA discs and stock lines it probably would have cost around $250.

I've used remanufactured/rebuilt calipers on my jeep (waggy axles) and never had any problems in over 6 years. THey were like $15 each with core return. Can't beat that!
I also have remanufactured master cylinder in the jeep also - no problems for over a year.
