Is this normal for Toyotas? This is my first Toyota and was wondering if it was standard practice or if I had a problem. I do find it somewhat useful.

there is a way to program the remote to make it honk, honk and flash lights, etc. look at the users manual for the keyless remote. what year?

Mine does not honk when the doors are locked with the fob. My friend at work has an 05 and his does not honk either. I wish it would at least give a little "chirp" or something, no big deal. I think your truck is normal.

Mine just flashes...Why do people make a big deal about this. I read a post one time where someone was complaining that in the manual it said to turn the wiper knob upwards to speed up the intermit and you actually turn down in the truck. he was actually complainging about this. Sometimes people like to nit pick

People with the horn chirp don't like it. Now people without the chirp don't like it.

Don't know if it will work with the '05 Taco, but try pressing both the unlock and lock buttons at the same time. That toggles the chirp on a Honda. (Doesn't work on an '04 Taco, though.) Might be worth a shot.

You will only get the chirp/honk if you have the optional security system installed. The key entry system alone does not do it. This was brought up over on TS, the manual is wrong.

When at the there were 2 one honked and one didnt and the one that did had the alarm in it and mine dosent... I think it is annoying to have it honk...

Mine doesn't honk right now but it chirps. I can make it honk also but I turned that feature off. I find the honk annoying. The little chirp is fine for me. I drive an 04 prerunner.
