Does anyone know how to remove the driver's side kick panel on the 05 Tacoma? I am trying to figure out if I can do the free alarm upgrade but I could not see the "single wire connector" and was hoping to get in behind the panel. It is not obvious how to get back there. I have the manual trany and it looks like the resting platform for your left foot covers a screw but I don't even know how to get the that platform off.
I am also interested in removing the ceiling panel. I went to the dealership to try and have them show me how, but the service guy gave me the number to a trim shop and said they (Toyota) don't even mess with it!

Give the foot rest a good tug and it should come off. You will see a black thingy holding the kick panel to the floor, unscrew it. Pull up the plastic sill that runns along the door jam and carpet. slide the kick panel foward and out she comes.
On the ceiling panel are you meaning the thing with the map lights and compass thing?

Thanks for the info, I will try getting the kick panel out tomorrow.
For the ceiling, I am thinking of mounting a CB below the map light/compass display and above the mirror. I would like to be able to get behind that unit to figure out a mounting, to maybe tap off the power for the CB, and to run the antena cable behind the full ceiling panel to the back of the cab.

I think there are 3 screws up in the sunglasses compartment and the compass pops out and some screws behind that.
