My front diff is out to get regeared and since its going to be up to a month before its done (No one seems to have front 4:88s in stock) i would like to be able to drive my truck. I already took out the the front DS and obviously the the CVs but i was wondering, if i covered the hubs so they dont get dirty could i then be able to drive around and not damage anything? worst case ill have to take apart my pile of broken CVs and just put in the part that goes through the hub but if i dont have to that would be cool. Thoughts??

Yeah I would wrap some serious layers of saran wrap around them with a rubber band around that. Should hold out moisture and the like

Last time this came up it turned into a huge discussion. DO NOT drive it without that part of the CV in hub. I believe it was oppositeboy (brian) who did, and his wheels almost came off. I'm just give you a heads up, as you wait for one of them to chime in, and cover this better.

find the outer half of a shaft and stick in there, if you dont have anything to put in there dont drive it. wheels like to start falling off while going high speeds when ADD trucks dont have the CV's installed.
