I've got my '84 Toyota axle stripped down to the housing and am prep'ing it for my SAS into my '89 4Runner.

Do I have to use the knuckle dust cover (the big round metal disk that bolts over the spindle and to the knuckle)? I'd rather leave them off since mine are pretty trashed and just fab something to hold the short hard line coming from the caliper? Can the dust seal and gasket just bolt right to the knuckle through the spindle without it?

I haven't put everything back together yet so I don't even know if it will work with the new vented rotor (Allpro) I'm using with my IFS calipers.

Thanks!

You've got to have something between the seal and spindle when you bolt it all back together. So either the dust shield or the spacers from FrontRange or I think Trail gear might have them? are about 30 bucks a set.
