when removing the plug,air rushes in like rear end is not venting.removed the
vent hose going to the locker ass. and can not blow air in with the rear end plug removed.

this is a trd offroad double cab 2007

is this normal?

The axle breather is on top of the axle housing. The actuator tube just vents the actuator.

Why are you blowing your rear end??? Sorry, had to go there...the door was WIDE open. :) Seriously though, wrong breather.

The breather is a spring loaded check valve that only bleeds excess pressure caused by heat. When the rear end cools, there is a slight vacuum.

Yeah, I noticed the same thing on my 03 4runner last summer when I put amsoil in it.
