stick with 5w-30 that toyota recommends for this engine and dont listen to what your buddy who recommended 10w-40 tells you. download the motor oil bible like gadget says and give a copy to your buddy while you are at it.
Sae10w40?
I just changed my oil and was told to use 10W40 for off-roading instead of 10W30, is this a problem or is that ok. How do the #'s in the SAE_W_ make a differance? I have a 2004 SR5 4x4 TACO.
