alright guys, my two front fenders had a lot of scratches on them. i went down to the autobody paint supply shop in town. they mixed me up a can of paint according to what the book said my truck coler was. so i went home and a had desided it would just be better to pain the whole fender (bad idea). so i masked off both fenders and shot them both with the paint they gave me (wich was just a rattle can). do you guys know of anything that would take off that rattle can crap but not the underlying cleer coat? i was going to use ascetone but again, i dont know what the hell i am doing, i would screw more up. i am not an expert body man. anyhelp would be great because my paint dont match and it looks like crap!?!?!

thanks

I use ascetone to clean road tar and sap of my factory paint and have never had it damage the clear coat....Also ask the paint shop where you got the paint what they recomend to remove the rattle can paint. Hope that helps.

If you want your fenders to match, and blend in, then yes.

I'm sure you've already learnt this lesson, but always test any paint on a small/inconspicuous area first to see how close it comes to matching. Doesn't take many months in the sun before your paint doesn't match the factory offering any longer.
