So I am back to just the brown 4Runner again...
I had to get rid of the white one, so with the brown one lifted again I wanted to get some time outside.

I don't have many pics but the carnage, all done on trail 17.

The begging of the trail is easy and then has that 'S' turn before the real tough stuff, still has some intricately placed rocks.
Well I picked a bad line and this was the outcome:

That is the tire shoved into the body.....

This is what was the result of my damages:

I don't have other pictures of the one other failure, I bent driver side rear shock housing and the bottom of the passenger rear shock actually split from the body....

With the pinion sheared the truck would only roll in reverse cause when put in drive and go forward the pinion would drop and lock up the rear. So I backed the truck up all they way from 17 back to the staging area...

Needless to say I have a LOT of work ahead of me

Sheared pinion...

Anyone remember Jason's epic failure on Rock Creek during the PA Fall Crawl back in 2008? I was almost on the complete opposite end of the trail where his pinion let loose. Sounded like someone shot a shotgun right next to me! Been there Avy...don't want to go back! We ended up pulling the whole axle apart to get the other end of the pinion out so we could then winch him off the trail...4 hours to go 100 yards! Then the rest of the way down trail 13 in one wheel drive!

Not my truck, shit I don't even own a rig anymore. I just make fun of those who still do. :lmao:

And from my past experiences with those sliders, that traction aid brings the suck when you miss the slider altogether and your leg slides down the cheese grater!

Yup, stronger arms are on the list now, along with stronger mounts!

I was pretty impressed I sheared the pinion, I guess I know the limits of a locked Toyota Rear too -_-

That break in 08' definitely sounds like it brought on major suck, but Its to be expected in the hobby.

Good luck with the fix Avy hope to see you back on the trails soon
Slowly working on it, I will definitely be back out again, hopefully for a winter run!
