I was wondering when you were going to post you rig...sweet!!!!!!
I must say Wil, your build gave me some many ideas as I work on my taco. Everything you've done has been top-notch and the build writeups and pictures have been so informative. Thanks!

Rick
X2. Love that truck. Mine's nowhere near as loaded as yours, but we're building it slowly as necessity dictates since we're on a budget. Hard to know what mods should be prioritized sometimes, since there are so many useful things that can be done to these trucks. Great build and detailed write-ups. Thanks for taking the time to put your mods in writing with photos for the rest of us.

Nice glad I could help out!

I think most mods are done out necessity and safety... those are the high priority ones.
nice truck, did you have to modify anything to get the tires to fit?,I'm going the same route with tires and suspension on my O.D 03 dbl. cab Thanx, Roman
Oh man Wil! what a POSER!!!!! :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Truly awesome buddy! although we have had the conversations on my truck not being "an expedition rig" you have some things I have been wanting to add to my truck, so if you don't mind and since I have you on speed dial, I'll be contacting you as soon as the ole account recovers!

I did the pinch weld, with a dremel tool and a BFH, other than that no issues. When I switched to the Toyo's (they're a bit bigger than the BFG's) I started contacting the washer reservoir on full stuff on the front passenger side. It just pops the hoses off, so I now run water instead of the blue juice to help the trails out! I'm sure there's a fix, but for now I don't care that much.

Total poser... what can I say. I think my trucks seen the dirt like twice in its life!

16x8 wheels, what amount of back space? Can i use my stock 16x7 wheels with 255/85/16 tires or do i need to go to a 16x8 wheel?

Yes, you can use your stock wheels with 255's with out issues. Scroll up for pics of BFG's 255's on the stock wheels. I forgot my BS on the wheels, but they are as close to stock as I could get my hands on.
great looking truck bro.

what are your inner angles? Also looking from the side of the truck, what angle did you use to follow the cab line? I'm building a very similar rack right now, and want to match up the angles pretty close to stock.

nevermind, lol, i am an idiot. I can figure em out myself... just thought of that! Ouch.... senior year of mechanical engineering classes, you would think that woulda came faster...

but still, what is the angle you used looking from the side of the truck to match the forward slope of the cab?

We just eyeballed it and tacked it into place, then welded it after it was right. It took us a few tries. Sorry I no longer own the rack and forgot most about it.
Awsome DC you have!

That is a great idea, i love the look. Do you have to remove the entire front grill, or is that trim just cliped on? Is it a pain to get that off?

You have to remove the entire thing, the black portion of the grill is held in with plastic clips that are "welded" and you have to break them all and apoxy back on.

I sanded with 300 paper, and then painted. Some paint has since come off, and I have to remove the front bumper to get it again! Augh!

I need to do the same to my rig!

yeah next is my windows... all the OEM black is cracked and starting to flake off...trees and shrubs are peeling it right off! Apparently there is chrome under the black!
Uh oh... needs to go on a diet like me...

Weighed in at 1/2 tank of gas with empty fridge and empty water!
