Ridge Route Workday - Saturday, April 8th, 2006

The Ridge Route Preservation Organization, (RRPO) has scheduled Phase Two of Operation CUTRR (Clean Up The Ridge Route).

WHEN: Saturday, April 8th, 2006 (WEATHER PERMITTING)

WHERE: The Northern end of the Ridge Rt. (Between Hwy. 138, South of Gorman to the historic Tumble Inn site.)

TIME: We will meet at Brian's Diner in Gorman at 9:00 a.m. This is a 1960's diner that is next to the Sizzler restaurant and south of the Chevron gas station.

WORK: We generally assign groups of people at designated locations along the road where drainage inlets are blocked. The objective is to clear the inlets of brush and debris in order to prevent more flooding and damage along the historic road. We will also remove any trash on the road.

BRING: A sack lunch. RRPO will provide bottled water and have available a Construction type Porta-Potty. Please bring, shovels, pruning shears, a wheelbarrow if that is possible, gloves, a jacket and adequate footware.

You can get an idea of our volunteer effort by looking at our efforts from February 11, 2006.

If you need additional information please call: (866) 262-7594 (Toll Free) or "e" mail: [email protected]

Well, I hope some folk'll go.

But, I cannot make it. The knee needs a weekend off . . .

It is a good effort, and one to preserve history up there.
