...Due to power usage by heaters?! I know for damn sure heaters aren't the reason, because we use much more on AC in the summer months. That and whatever percentage of heaters are gas don't count for much aside from the blower, so there has to be another reason for this.

I think we should implement solar paneling for roofs over current roofing materials. Many suburbs don't have trees so the risk of limb damage is very low. Given our current power infrastructure plus widespread solar paneling, I suspect we would have a surplus of power, either feeding to other grids or being utilized elsewhere.

Thoughts?

solar panels are expensive and inefficient

surplus of power???? you can't store electricity like coal or petrolium
and grids are some what fragil meaning we can't just send elect power to any place at any time

turn the heaters down a little and put on a sweater.:D
