I have screwed my CV joint and need to have it replaced. Toyota wants way to much money. The one on my truck is making alot of noise and makes the truck sound like its rattling apart. Do the earlier trucks use the same CV joint? There are no tacoma's in the yards around here but I do know where there are some 90's trucks are and was wondering if they used the same setup.

I would try and find one out of a salvage yard.

He said driveline CV not axle. There's one in the drive line too.

Not CTM's this is the one in the drive shaft on the two part drive shafts on the xtracabs. I called highangle to build me a new shaft but he needs a not completely screwed CV to do it, toyota wants 1200 for new one.

ive got mine from when i did my swap, 50 bucks plus shipping if you want it. if im not mistaken i just cut the shaft about 3-5" from the end of the CV. Ill have to see if i can find it under the pile of junk i have in the shop.

Sorry for the off topic but would a drive shaft from an early 90's toyota work as a trail fix? Like the slip end of it? Are they the same spline as the Tacoma ones?

i may have another around the shop somewhere, i know there is about 5 tacoma DS's laying around the shope that ive chopped up to make other drive shafts for people. Ill check tomorrow and let you know.
