Just measure the pin size and the specs of you broken one or the hole size on the SAW collar-

search for spanner wrench on http://www.mcmaster.com/ and look up the fixed round pin style spanners

I use a 5/16's drill bit (& 1/4" handle extenstion) to adjust my Kings.
works better than a spanner wrench for me -
However- there may be fewer holes on the collar of the Saws IIRC

The Mac and Snap-On trucks have them, Chris. I got a hinged one that should be good for several sizes of coilover collars. As I recall it wasn't cheap but it was well made.

I'll check with the local snap-on driver, thanks ;) I don't mind paying for decent tools.

the SAWs have 4 holes to work with...kind of a pain. Can you explain your contraption a little better? pics? ;)

I will try to take some pics- (Need to crank them up a little)
Basically, I insert the two items that fit the holes of the King- Collar-
(ie back end of a 5/16 drill bit or 1/4 extension)

Grab on and turn the collar using those shafts as handles-
I will basically remove, re-insert to newwly exposed hole, & repeat as I turn the collar-
I think the Kings collar may have 5-6 holes - which expose allow for two accessible holes to be exposed at a given time

that sounds much easier. This collar's hole locations don't realy allow for much access while on the truck but I'll see if I can come up with something similar to what you have. I may just have to remove the whole thing and fab up some sort of bench-mounted bracket to attach it to so I can remove the collar.

I think due to the SAW collar having fewer holes- you may not have as much access-

Last time- I disconnected my TC upper Control arm for better access and made adjustments with the Kings still on the truck

how do you get enough leverage with just a wacked off screwdriver?? these holes are starting to show a lot of wear from me trying to turn the darn collar anyway so I may just have to replace them. I think I'm just going to have to pull the shocks and make some sort of contraption to hold the whole thing while I get the collars off :(

I have tried emailing Camburg/Racerunner but haven't gotten any replys as yet.

its tough, but my collars allways turned

thats basically the same thing as the 1/4" drive handled ...you think that's bad-
the 5/16" drill bit is pretty tough-
the key is to use two items to turn as often as possible...that and GrillmasterP's Kung Fu grip

I like the cut off screw driver tool it often works better than a typical hook style spanner wrench.
That is why I put 2 ends on our new spanner wrench that is now included in the kit
Honestly I hardly ever use the hook end but people have a mind set on what the wrench is supposed to “look” like so here it is
Also the pin material is a heat treated cromoly steel and larger in dia.

if you have another coil over just use the screw driver

yea, the screwdriver worked way better than the spanner ever did. unfortunatly, the adjusting holes on the Donahoes are bit larger than on my old SAWs so my screwdriver wont work anymore. looks like its time to kill another one :xdevil: :welder:

oh did i mention, Donahoes kick ass :xrocker: :xsmokin1:

gee, thanks for the add-vice ;)

I just need to tear these things down and anti-seaze the threads.

This worked on mine until I got about 1/2 way around and now I don't have any holes that are exposed or that I can get enough leverage on. Any ideas?

Chris,

When off the truck, I just took a srewdriver and stuck it through the heim on the bottom and stepped on it. Then used the spanner wrench on the collar.

Also, I have my spanner wrench. Where are you located? If you need to do a quick crank, I can swing by and we can do a little mini-wrenchathon.
