Just measure the pin size and the specs of you broken one or the hole size on the SAW collar-hytenor said:Ok, who has that MacMaster/Carr part # for the wrench that actually works?
I finally broke the chincy one Sway Away included with my shocks...
I'll check with the local snap-on driver, thanksDick Foster said:The Mac and Snap-On trucks have them, Chris. I got a hinged one that should be good for several sizes of coilover collars. As I recall it wasn't cheap but it was well made.
the SAWs have 4 holes to work with...kind of a pain. Can you explain your contraption a little better? pics?grillmasterp said:Just measure the pin size and the specs of you broken one or the hole size on the SAW collar-
search for spanner wrench on http://www.mcmaster.com/ and look up the fixed round pin style spanners
I use a 5/16's drill bit (& 1/4" handle extenstion) to adjust my Kings.
works better than a spanner wrench for me -
However- there may be fewer holes on the collar of the Saws IIRC
I will try to take some pics- (Need to crank them up a little)hytenor said:the SAWs have 4 holes to work with...kind of a pain. Can you explain your contraption a little better? pics?![]()
that sounds much easier. This collar's hole locations don't realy allow for much access while on the truck but I'll see if I can come up with something similar to what you have. I may just have to remove the whole thing and fab up some sort of bench-mounted bracket to attach it to so I can remove the collar.grillmasterp said:I will try to take some pics- (Need to crank them up a little)
Basically, I insert the two items that fit the holes of the King- Collar-
(ie back end of a 5/16 drill bit or 1/4 extension)
Grab on and turn the collar using those shafts as handles-
I will basically remove, re-insert to newwly exposed hole, & repeat as I turn the collar-
I think the Kings collar may have 5-6 holes - which expose allow for two accessible holes to be exposed at a given time
how do you get enough leverage with just a wacked off screwdriver?? these holes are starting to show a lot of wear from me trying to turn the darn collar anyway so I may just have to replace them. I think I'm just going to have to pull the shocks and make some sort of contraption to hold the whole thing while I get the collars offdrabnor said:after i broke the pos one saw sends, i used a phillips screwdriver that i cut the tip off of. fits perfectly into the holes and it has a nice fat handle so it doesnt hurt my hand. since it does not fit into the holes on my new hoes, you can have it Chris. that is if you want it. e-mail me
its tough, but my collars allways turnedhytenor said:how do you get enough leverage with just a wacked off screwdriver?? these holes are starting to show a lot of wear from me trying to turn the darn collar anyway so I may just have to replace them. I have tried emailing Camburg/Racerunner but haven't gotten any replys as yet.

I like the cut off screw driver tool it often works better than a typical hook style spanner wrench.drabnor said:after i broke the pos one saw sends, i used a phillips screwdriver that i cut the tip off of. fits perfectly into the holes and it has a nice fat handle so it doesnt hurt my hand. since it does not fit into the holes on my new hoes, you can have it Chris. that is if you want it. e-mail me
gee, thanks for the add-vicedrabnor said:its tough, but my collars allways turned
oh and the contraption to hold the shocks while you turn them is called a vice, say it with me, V I C E![]()
This worked on mine until I got about 1/2 way around and now I don't have any holes that are exposed or that I can get enough leverage on. Any ideas?grillmasterp said:I will try to take some pics- (Need to crank them up a little)
