THIS IS DRIVING ME INSANE!!!! Has anyone else had a problem with the passenger seat squeeking when going over bumps, or when the 35's start to shake a little at 75??? Only does it when the seat is empty, and it's not coming from the mounting brackets, not coming from the seat back or head rest....seems like it's coming from underneath the seat??

I had the same issue on my 98. Remove the seat from the truck - 4 bolts, take off the plastic side covers on the lower seat. There are 4, 12 or 14 mm bolts holding the seat to the slide bracket. I loosened mine up and applied some silicone inbetween the metals, then torqued them back down. Problem solved. Its not hard, takes about 30 minutes. Trust me - if you were to be a Hyundai mechanic like me, you learn how to fix these issue quick.

People posting random crap in the 4X4 tech folder is driving me insane. Please explain how your squeaky seat relates to 4X4. If you need help to oil up a squeaky seat, you probably don't have any business going off-road in the first place. Perhaps it's better if you stick to the malls.

I had this problem and I swore it was the seat or possibly something in the passenger seatbelt assembly. Ended up being a bolt that holds the body to the frame (whatever you call those) right behind the passenger seat. I just loosened it up a tad and no more squeak. It would make the squeak only when the seat was empty. My truck is a regular cab, though, not sure if that makes a difference.

seat thing

first of all to the people who are talking crap this guy is just trying to get some help give him a break thats why all of us post here is to ask for help and share knowlegde to further ourselves in the 4x4 world. one person is stupid no matter how much they know but knowlegde from a group is geneous, share knowledge it works better.

now-- my seat squeaked and rattled to. heares what i did, there are two bolts, one on either side of the seat, on the seat back itself about halfway up the back support i believe they are 12 or 14 mm and they are hidden by the seat material so if you tighten these the rattleing and shaking should stop but the squeaking is probably coming from the slider bracker or the floor mount bolts.

My Drivers side squeaks when I get into and out of my truck, when I hit bumps and sometimes when I turn sharp corners. Drives me Insane! mine is a 60/40 front seat.
