Long story short...Decided to take my 05 out for some light wheelin for the 1st time. Been raining here for about 3 days so I hit some old back dirt roads a buddy told me about. Lots of good mud. I got about 1 mile back off the main road. Couldn't go any futher because of a good size mud hole (may have tried it if I had someone their to pull me out). Anyway, turned around to go back and a big tree fell about 15 feet in front of me across the road with no way around it. Sat there in shock for a few minutes  , then had to walk out to find someone with a chainsaw (tried to go through the mudhole, had to use the locker to get out, front end immediately sank down). What's the chances of a tree falling across the road right in front of me, especially since it was the only way out. Guess I'll carry a chainsaw from now on!

That sucks. Here in Montana I always carry my saw with me. A couple of years ago I was with a buddy and the same type of thing happened. Luckly we had a axe with us but what took us an hour and a half to cut and move would have taken us 5 minutes with a chain saw. So now everytime I go out I have my saw with. Plus it's nice to have in case you need to build a big ass fire on short notice.

yeah i lucked out, actually I had tried going up the hill once and started sliding so I decided to back up and put it in 4 low. the tree fell right where I stopped before backing up. i think if that had happened I would be divorced right now.

One of the reasons you should never go wheelin alone!!! If that tree would've landed on you.......knocked you out unconscious and trapped in your vehicle....
It'd take atleast a couple days before authorites would render you *missing* and another couple days until they found you in the woods. You'd be lucky to be alive!!
