Stock cat-back bolt removal problem

I can not get the two bolts unscrewed off the cat/long pre muffler pipe. I tried spraying it with WD-40 and waitng and no luck. I tried putting a pipe on the end of the handle of the socket wrench for more torque and nothing. This sucks. I bought a magnaflow cat-back to install and can not do anything about it. My truck is only 8 months old and those bolts are all rusted to shit. Did the Michigan winter rust the underside of my truck that bad? Any helplful ideas would be appreciated.

you might want to try an impact wrench for those stubborn bolts. you can pick up at a hardware store, hell even super walmart sells them, though i don't think they are cheap. heres one thats not to bad in price that might help you out:

as for the michigan winter rust issue ... i'm your rival to the south :D and its bad here, you just need to make sure you are consistantly cleaning off the underside of your truck as well as the rest of it.

hope you get those bolts off ... i know how frustrating it can be to be held up by that problem.

Their exhaust bolts, and probably all rusted too. You wouldnt want to put those back on anyways. Just take a sawsall to the bolt and cut it off. Then go get some new ones for 2 bucks at home depot. Faster and youll be better off in the long run.
good point ... however you get them suckas off be sure to replace them and get stainless steel hardware to help stave of the rust. i have already replaced a handful of bolts on the underside of my truck. :welder:
