I have an 04 Tacoma with a replacement frame in 2016 . I am bolting on sliders to my frame. Do I need spacers on the bolts to not cave in the frame or is it strong enough? I am drilling about 1" from the frame edge and plan on using 1/2 " bolts with a 2" square washer for extra support on the frame. I
I think it all depends on usage, if it will be wheeled occasionally and have minor abuse and leverage put on sliders you should be ok with your plan. If you are going to be dragging it through rock gardens every weekend
You would want locate your holes and over drill to fit appropriate sleeves to weld in then bolt on, or weld and gusset large plates to frame and sliders.
