if bridged, the 12 would be pretty darn loud. if you had the two 10s hooked up in stereo mode, they would sound pretty good and more than likely be louder. it is pretty much up to you. if you want more room in the back, go with a good 12 and a good amp, a friend of mine has to 12 in his excab, and it is loud as hell. a lot of speaker for a small truck.

A 12" Driver Usually Plays Deeper. But Depending On What Kind Of 10"s And If You Power Them Right They Can Sound Real Good. Ive Personally Had Two Setups In My Xtracab 2 8"s Loud But Not Deep Sounding And One 12". I Personally Like One 12"

it depends on what you like. their are pros and cons for both setups. i personally had two 10" Orions that i ran mono with about 1100 watts and they hit so hard. they were in a mustang and when the back seats were down the air from the ports would blow my g/f hair around in the front seat. its mostly in the equipment. you buy shitty stuff you get shitty results...pretty simple.
buy one af these and you will have no worries

i agree. you get what you pay for. i lucked out and got more than what i paid for. i paid 40 bucks for a 600watt MA audio 10'' sub, box, and a 250 watt pioneer amp. sounds damn good in my reg cab. clear and clean sound.

Got a 12" W6 in a sealed box with a PPI amp pushing it bridged to 1.5 ohms and it rocks pretty hard.

So to answer your question, I would get a bad ass 12" instead of 2-10" cause of space. As far as wiring them you have more flexibility with the 2 woofers. However my 12 is DVC so you could vary the impedance, so go figure.

Yea go with renzog2g's setup.....JL Audio subs are the greatest! They are a little on the expensive side..but i blew my W4 and i sent it into JL and they sent me a new one back! lol it was on the warranty but hey it only took one week for me to have a brand new subwoofer! Remember to break the sub in once you get it. Leave in on really low for 48 hours before you crank it up!

What would hit/ sound better in a 2002 xtra cab tacoma, 2 10" or 1 12" sub
Alot of subs would sound great in the PROPER enclosure. An expensive sub in a inaccurate box will sound aweful. Figure out what kind of room you are workign with, and that will help narrow down what type of sub you should get.

I personally prefer 12's, because of the bass extension. 10's seem a bit too quick for my type of music (rap), but it works great on rock.

I agree with NisAznMonk

When you buy or decide on your woofer, check out the specs for it. Buy a box that has that volume to give you the best sound. I personally rock a 12" for 3 reasons. one is space in my truck. Two it sounds better for what I listen to. 10's sounds "tighter". Three, if you have two woofers and the woofers share the enclosure, you can risk distortion at higher volumes (just a bit even if they are run in parallel), but it depends on the design of the box.

As far as money is concerned, two average 10's would cost the same as a bad mofo 12 inch imo.

i agree too. they box makes or breaks your system. make sure it is air tight. the smallest hole can make a difference. a friend of mine with a excab toyota pickup had two tens that sounded bad ass. he had a good box. he then got two 12's to add to his 10's, he had them in one big box, and it didn't good at all. quality will outdo quantity. make sure you do a good job
