I haven't gotten around to getting the Toyota bed mat for my wife's '07 Taco and I really needed something back there for our dog. He has three legs, so getting around on the slick composite bed with all the ribs is hard for him to do. Not to mention, it is uncomfortable as hell to crawl in there for stuff on those ribs. Up till now I had a board back there to help him out, but that was heavy and I needed to get something more comfy back there for our trip to June Lake. I found these foam interlocking mats at Costco for under $12.

Super easy to cut and piece together and came with plenty of edge trim.

Don't get me wrong, this is no where near the quality of the Toyota mat that I will eventually get, but that is $$ that I don't have right now. This at least makes it much more comfortable back there as Jack is demonstrating.

I still had two full pieces (8 sq. ft.) and many end trim pieces left over. I am going to test some different glues on some scrap pieces and I may pull it out and glue the pieces together. Since this is mainly the grocery getter and not a work truck that is hauling stuff all the time, I think it will hold up for awhile till I get the good mat.

P.S. It is really lite, so I don't think it would work well in an uncovered bed.

(I did this one year ago. Many camping trips, some hauling for my tile business, not to mention the daily abuse my wife puts it through with strollers/kids bikes/groceries, etc... It has held up great and looks pretty much like it did in the above pics. I also used the same stuff in the bottom of my M416 trailer which has been used on camping trips, hauling a ton of tile supplies, bombing around the dunes, etc.... and it holds up to the abuse. I still saw this same stuff at Costco last time I was there.)

Man, thats awesome. I was at Home Depot like 2 nights ago and I saw the same thing but in multi colors. I am going to put mine in our mud room for the dog. She comes in just dirty as all hell sometimes, and pretty much wrecks any mat we put down. Those mats will be awesome for either use!
