I know sway bars are self defeating in regards to SAS'ing and articulation. But I also know some have added them to their conversions for street manors using quick disconnects for trail use.
One of my :welder: friends that is helping with my conversion really thinks a sway bar is needed and is willing to fabricate it for me just to keep me safe. (what a great friend huh?) He has mentioned it so much that now my wife is practically demanding me to install one (okay, so he is not that great of a friend as to turn my own wife against me)
So what have others done for sway bars? My first thought was to keep the stock sway bar, fabricate longer end links and install to new tabs on the axle. My concern with that idea is the short side/drivers side of the D44. There is not that much room for much especially with the shock tabs already needing to go there and the spring perch that will probably be in the way as well.
My friend's idea is to fab up new mounting points on the front spring hanger and invert the sway bar from the front.
Any better ideas out there? I would like to resolve this issue soon so I can quit having to listen to my wife ab out how the truck is not going to be safe.
