I did. I trimmed the dipstick to fit. I now have what I like to call a digital dipstick. I either have oil or I don't. If you can you're better off relocating the dipstick to the rear of the block where it will sit where it's supposed to in the sump of the pan. Some of the newer tacomas have the hole in the back of the block filled in. Older ones simply have a plug in it that you can hammer out from the inside.
