hi, can anyone tell me if i could use the 86 to 95 steering shaft to my tacoma streeing colin, will the teeth be the same or do i need to modifie it to make it fit?

I am guessing since this is in the SAS section you are wanting to use it for your swap. The older toy shafts can be used to make a steering shaft but not a direct replacement. They are splined opposite. I took the taco shaft out dissambled the double joint and reassembled it with one joint.

This is the taco shaft with the cardian joint removed and reassembled. If you fold the joint you can knock out the thin splined section. Doesn't look like it but it is a seperate piece. Then with a bit of grinding you can insert the older toy shaft in to the taco piece and weld it in. Make sure you drill out the rivets on the old shaft so the shaft slips to account for body movement


Here the 2 shafts are assembled.

oh one more thing if is not to much can u tell me how to disassembly the double u joint to a single u joint?
