Ok, so I need to chose between a Lincoln SP 175T and a SP 175 Plus the only diff is: Output range 30 -175 vs 25-175 & the control (tap vs continuous). What is the diff? is it worth it?

I have the 175+ and love it. It is a little more work to fine tune your settings but you can get it just right. That said most people do just fine with the standard tap settings found on the 175t and if you dont weld a lot it is easier to dial in your settings.

Tap voltage control gives you like 8 different preset voltage settings. The continuous control is variable across the whole range. Having the variable control allows for more precise adjustment of your voltage to fine tune your welding.

Think of tap as a switch. You switch between values (A,B,C and so on...)

Continuous is like a potentiometer for your lights. Infinent value between a, b, c and so on...

If you have the money to spend on it and you will be doing a lot of welding, go for the plus. If you do little things here and there, just get the tap.
