04 trd 5spd s/c urd amsoil and magnaflow

i heard people talking that there butterfly in their throttle body didnt open all they way when the pedal was flored.(butterfly parallel with the ground right??) so i decided to check mine and i was amazed with the results. the butterfly opened about half way or less!!!!! i dont understand it . i recently put the s/c on and in the process of tuning it. has anyone else had this problem. and could i take it to the dealer and tell to fix it even though i put the s/c on myself. or im crazy and its totally normal to open at like a 35 degree angle

It's easy enough to adjust the throttle cable. You want a little slack in it but make sure that the throttle plate closes all the way after you adjust it. I took the slack out of my throttle cable and the throttle response seemed quicker afterwards.

Another thing to check if you have the equipment to do it is the throttle position sensor signal. It should read 75-80% open with the pedal to the floor. That's normal. If you don't have the scanner to read that you can check the voltahe, which should be between 3.6-5.0 volts wide open.

Before you go changing anything on your throttle body, I have noticed mine does that too. Then I read somehwere that on the newer throttle bodies like yours and mine we only have 1 cable to the trottle body and the older ones have 2. The other cable is actually compensated by an electronic device that is on the side of our throttle body. It is activated when the truck is on and your foot is to the floor. So don't get scared it appears to be doing what it is suppose to. I haven't checked mine to be sure of this, but my truck is running fine and it does the same as yours.

so when the car is on it acts differently and opens all the way
Yes. When the truck is on and your foot is to the floor (WOT) the electronic device will open it all the way or close to it. I don't remember if it does that with just the ignition on and the truck not running, but you can try it that way first.

By the way I noticed you are trying to get as much power out of your truck as you can. Have you done the Throttle body gasket mod? You know the TB gasket is D shaped. Make it O shapped to get as much air flow as possible in there.
