This morning I started my 4runner for work, very cold morning, 0 degrees. The steering wheel was not locked in place and the tilt lever seemed to not engage. Any ideas on what is going on and why it just happened overnight. I assume the cold weather is just a coincidence.

The tilt steering locks via friction lever. The cold might have caused the lock sleeve to shrink and release the lock. So yeah, very likely temp related.
