I have a couple 2001 Tacomas that are due for timing belts(plus a 98 thats not too far behind). I am looking at the kit on ebay for ~$350 that includes all original Toyota parts, belt, water pump, idlers, tensioner, seals, crank bolt, etc. I am wondering if everything needs to be changed or will some of those parts(tensioners, idlers) most likely make it to the second change out? I definitely don't want to half-arse anything but i don't want to replace parts that don't need to be either. Would the decision be different on supercharged vs NA?
Thanks for any input-Shaun

When I did the timing belt on my T100, I changed out all of those. They aren't that expensive, and to do just an idler or water pump later on is basically the same amount of work, so you may as well just do it once.

Water pump, and pulleys are a no brainer. I learned my lesson when I didn't change the tensioner pulley on my first truck, and about 50 miles after the timing belt job, the bracket snapped.

Change it out and don't lose sleep at night ;)
