searched for a while but couldn't find anything. I'll be getting a tow hitch from UHaul part#78164. Now is it hard to wire up the lights, brake lights, etc.? Will this tow hitch kit even come with wiring?
Use your volt meter and follow the voltage readings from that particular function while someone is in the cab with the key on and going through the different functions(turn, break, etc). Or use the online factory service manual and follow the wiring diagram. You can definately acquire a KIT for the hookup or just use your own weather proof connector from NAPA and go from there.
I bought a harness from Pep Boys when I did mine. It plugs into your existing tail light connectors and is very easy to install. It is also very clean and professional looking - no splicing required. It was about $40, but worth it. The splice-in types are cheaper, but are more work, will likely take you longer to install and may be more prone to problems in the future. :2cents:
