I want to tow an manual FJ behind my RV, apparently toyota does not reccomend these vehicles to be towed. Does anyone know why? and is there a way to tow them without damage?

You will burn up xcase, etc... If you are going to do it a lot I would look into a driveshaft disconnect, if you are going to do it every so often just remove the driveshaft.

When I towed my ADD 4x4 Tacoma 2000 miles while moving to Texas, I disconnected the rear drive shaft and put the front wheels on a dolly. It worked great with no noticeable problems. I image the same thing should work for the FJ, but you'll still end up puting some ware on that rear axle. Of course the safest thing to do is get a trailer.
