i see a lot of people using the dana 44 for a sas but how do the toyota front axles work from an older toyota pickup?? im looking in doing a sas in the near future so im starting with the axle i plan on getting then going from there

Dana 44 have a driver side pumpkin, while the toyotas have a passenger side pumpkin. That is why most use 44's for tacomas.

are you talking about swapping a tacoma? if so yes its true, the taco is driver drop and toy solid axles are passenger drop. the toy axles are also too narrow width for tacomas. if you are talking about a pre tacoma ifs pickup then a toy axle fits and works perfectly.

Older toy axles are very hard to use compared to a D44 for reasons stated above. However you could go with a diamond with toy outers and longs which is rediculously strong and still Toyota....
