Toyota didn’t just return to the Baja 1000 this year – it claimed a victory.
Taking the win in the Full Size Stock class, the Toyota Tundra TRD Pro went through a grueling 36-hour race and the truck didn’t come out of the event unscathed based on photos shared on social media.
In the 1990s, Toyota competed regularly in the Baja 1000 with Ivan Stewart at the helm, claiming two overall victories at the event in 1993 and 1998.
This time around, Stewart was at the helm of the team, coaching a roster of talented drivers that included Andy Bell, Jamie Bestwick, Ted Moncure and Ryan Millen. Official race results for the Baja 1000 are still not in, since the event is still going, but it’s good to see Toyota pushing its truck to the limits at the event.
