Can anyone ID this trans? I'm think W56 and it's top shift so I'm thinking A or B. Any way to tell the difference between the two. Picked it up probably 10 years or so ago and can't remember what it's out of. Plan was to replace the 4 speed in my 82 and make dual cases.

If there are any other pics you need to help with ID let me know.

Hard to confirm for sure, but the key difference is the center plate. That looks like it is probably not aluminum, so it would be W56B.

Awesome, thanks! Yup confirmed when I got home that it isn't aluminum.
