i've owned two 2002 tacoma extra cab trd 4wd trucks. the question i have is the first one had a push button 4wd tranfer(button on the transfer shifter). the one i own presently has a conventional 4wd shift system(pull the t-case lever toward the rear for 4wd hi). what are the differences in the two transfer cases? is one better than the other? i was just curious as to why toyota would use two different systems on the same truck. thanks.

I may be wrong, but I believe the T-cases are the same, just actuated differently..I think they went to a push button for ease of operation, for the wusses out there..
