Do any of you recommend changing out the stock thermostat to the TRD Thermostat? I have a 2002 Tacoma Dcab.

No. Why do you want to? So your engine can run cooler? Thats all BS. Your engine is designed to run a certain temperature. I didnt even install the one that came with my URD kit. I personally dont think it makes a difference. If you really want one you can get a stant from your local auto parts store for about $20. TRD is evil :xdevil: and greedy.

I wouldn't bother unless you have the s/c....and maybe not even then. I tried the TRD on my s/c 97 and didn't like the fact that it took my truck longer to warm up and my truck got 10-15% worse mileage. I also tried the 170 degree one from NAPA and removed it due to slightly worse gas mileage with no change in power or ping reduction. I for one would not recommend a lower temp thermostat...maybe my truck is just different as Gadget likes them for s/c trucks.
