Well, finally got it handed back to me after all these years. Went down to do some spearfishing, and made base camp at Octavio'sd, just north of Puertocitos. My dive area was Gonzaga/ Punta Bufeo area. 42 mile desert run each way to the spot. YEAH!!! So I scout for fish on Fri. and time my run back to Octavios for our dive competition on Saturday. I make the run in an hr, in the dark. Pretty good timing. On my GPS, the turnoff is showing as 200-300 ft. ahead. So, I slow down, and when I see the turnout, I pull in. It doesn't LOOK right... I STOP. I sit for 5 seconds looking out into my lights, when suddenly the dirt I am parked on slides out from under me. The truck teeters(Not Tweeters..) and then it just free-falls STRAIGHT FUCKING DOWN! BOOM. Right on its' nose. TIMBER.....plop. Right on its' side. I am there doing the deal, hanging from the seat belt. Engine is still running, etc. Sonovabitch!!! Shut it all down, undo the belt, fall down into the windshield. Great. Just great. I crashed at 0 miles an hour. Gotta be some kind of record for Polish offroading history. It took 2 trucks to pull it out, we put a spare tire under the chassis to pull it up out of the ditch over the concrete. Carnage was limited to: Bodywork, rt. side. Alignment was off a little bit from the extraction. And, strange enough, when plowing it out, the wheels cocked over so hard, it spun a banjo bolt loose, and dumped my brakes. Total trail repair was 30 minutes. I ran the truck the next day for the tournament, shot my big fish, made the 42 mile run in 45 minutes back north from Bufeo to Puertocitos. The truck worked really well, considering I had a zodiak and 100lb of fish in the back!!! And, to top it off, I won the tournament! So, a little redemption for me and my tippy, dinged up taco.
