didnt fully reasearch the topic but whoever had my truck first put sum kind of borla on mine and it sounds sweet, cant tell exactly what type of borla but it sounds good. sorry i cant be of more assistance.
P.S. its not like the one on that site, sounds different. but the closest sound i can find is that flowmaster by RandyM, not the same but close.

I have a 50 Delta and i cut off the tail pipe to put in some shackles. I like it alot...i have a double cab and its RIGHT under my rear passenger seat so it resonates. if you plan on getting a 40 remember to get the delta series because without it, it sounds like crap. Borlas/TRD sound awesome.

When you get a muffler installed keep in mind theres a few items that will influence the sound of the muffler:
Length of tail pipe, i.e. if it's cut off just behind the muffler it will be louder, and not as deep (rumble).
Diameter of tail pipe, larger pipe = louder and tinnier sound.
Tail pipe exit point makes a difference to sound in the cab and the added tube to get to the back makes a little more rumble.

I have a DF50 that I originally piped to the stock location, ok sounding.
Moved exit to the back of the truck, less in cab noise, rumble got deeper with more exhaust pipe.
And finally located at back of truck tucked up and behind the trailer hitch angled down and back, nice rumble, no annoying in cab issues.

I also tried different pipes after the muffler, I settled on a 2.5" pipe into a 8" long 3" diameter tip.

thanks for all the replies, they're helping allot. im thinking of taking off the stock muffler, and replacing just the muffler, keeping the stock pipes. the muffler is is about a foot diagonal to the left of the right rear wheel. the pipes are about 2 1/4 inches in diameter. i dont have the money to get new pipes other than additional pipe to add to the first pipe to make of for the flowmaster being shorter than the stock muffler (stock is about 19 1/2" long to the 50 series SUV 17") after that im thinking of a Y-Pipe. what do you think?

I have a $30 IMCO Turbo 2.5" muffler that in my opinion sounds better than a FM, has a deeper less raspy tone. It's dumped about a ft back with a turndown tip. I really like it.
There are several other options out there. Gibson (which I really like), FM, Magnaflow, Flowtech, Borla/TRD, Dynomax, etc. You don't have to get the whole catback system (for all mufflers), there are some decently priced places that carry just the muffler.

first off i like your avatar. I actually have been thinking of getting just the muffler, which i cheeper, but getting the cat-back system is allot easier. I look into IMCO, but im looking at a magnaflow or FM cat back. they're around 200 bones without instalation, and im putting everything on.

i have the cat-back gibson...i like it alot...its not overly loud *which is fine with me* but u can still hear it....i gotta couple more horsies out of it too...the guy i tlaked to at gibson said, if you want more horsies, make sure you get the mandrel bent pipes and dont cut it off rite after the muffler...he said that the back pressure is important, so try to get the pipe as long as possible...mine comes out at stock spot...hope this helped

Damn, my bad...after going through all the post. I realize someone already posted a link to my video, but that link is dead by now, so try the new one I just posted. It's actually a better sounding video but my "urban offroading" video is on the site as well.

i went with a nice magnaflow. in my honest opinion you wont get much performance difference between any of the good aftermarket mufflers (FM, borla, magnaflow, etc.) because most of them are basically the same thing with small tweaks.

i picked the mag because i liked the sound. i think it has a slightly smoother rumble vs the flowmaster that has a rougher sound (IMO). it all depends on your preference. go to a shop and see if the guy is willing to "fit" different mufflers on so that you can hear how it will actually sound on YOUR truck; thats what i did.
