I have alwayz noticed that when i go 4wheelin that my engine compartment ALWAYZ gets trashed with mud.... does anyone know a way to maybe seal the engine compartment from allowing water or mud into it..? at least from the the underside of my truck and my wheel wells?
Has anyone ever done this?

Umm...you know that big fan on the front of your engine? That pulls air through the radiator and across the engine and out the bottom. If you try to seal up the engine compartment, you would effectively be creating a closed system around your engine and it would immediately overheat and die. Splash guards like you have around your fenders help deflect the mud and water, but you cant keep everything out. ANYWAYZ, why does it matter? Just hose things down the rest of us do.

water in the engine compartment is nothing to worry about, when it gets to the computer behind the glove box is when your F**ked, thats why my first tacoma was considered a loss by insurance (incaseshit),

i had water up to the head rest and over the dash, a day later the engine would turn over but the computer was fried, im trying to devise a way to cover all the electronics in my engine bay,

o ya extend your breathers, like the trans and diffs, that helps alot and is not hard on the wallet,
