looks is really all they are good for.....

and they look like shit so who knows. I think they are less protection than the factory sheet metal.

i concur.... the upper tube with the right amount of force will smach the radiator, a/c condensor and the core support....

the stock bumper is low, and usually just deforms and absorbs, i hit a vw pretty hard and it jsut tweaked the stock bumper back half an inch, i jsut grabbed it and bent it back, lol

I had one on my 94 and rear ended my friends ranger, rotated straight back and into my core support and my radiator. Busted my radiator and I had too bend my core support back out with some come-a-longs and my tractor. Also put a nice crease in my hood.

They look good but suck for protection!

thanks for all the input, i didnt think about the core support, i knew the radiator would be gone though if hit, but thanks for the opinions. so it looks bad and is bad, why do they still sell them?

because morons still buy them. you must keep in mind that most people are dumb.
