I got a bare bone stock 01 4x4 standard cab.

I want an aggressive tread.

The Stock size is 260/70/16 (about 30.7")
I want to put 265/75/16's on it (1" to 1.2" bigger). Will this fit?

I AM NOT doing a lift right now. I have decided that I can not have a respectable 4x4 without a locker so I am going to lock up the rear before I lift it, and I don't think I will be lifting it any time soon.

Any suggestions are greatly apreciated.

You'll be fine on the stock rims, there might be a little bit of frame rubbage at full turn, but even if there is, it's not enough to worry about. Will probably lose your front mudflaps too. If you go with an aftermarket rim with less backspacing, you'll have to hammer the pinch weld down. Again, not really a big deal.

If you decide to do a minor lift in the future, those tires will still be a good fit.

Thanks for your quick and wonderful reply brother. May you future shockers be wet and stink-free.
Thanks for the kind wishes. I'll pass the regards on to my g/f.

You've got 16x7's btw.

I think I am going to buy some inexpensive rims like black daytonas or black rock crawlers.

15x8, that way I will be able to put 31x10.5's on my rig.

Firestone has a tire I really want. The Destination M/T.

I have never, ever been a fan of firestone, but I am hearing and reading good things about these tires. The 31x10.5 is a true 31". I can't find any other size that would be compatible with my rim and clearance level with such an aggressive tread.

Thanks for all the help! This forum is awesome!

Is thes the rims I want for my tacoma?

I plan on putting 31x10.5 on 15's

What should my backspacing be?

I am getting ready to order as soon as I find out.

15 in. x 7 in., 6 x 5.5 in. Bolt Circle, 3 3/4 in. Backspace

15 in. x 7 in., 6 x 5.5 in. Bolt Circle, 4 1/2 in. Backspace

I am pretty sure one of these measurements is what I need to order from Summit.

Does anyone know for sure?

Yeah i got the destinations and love em. I have also noticed that they do seem almost an inch larger than all the other 33's in my school parking lot. Maybe that contributed to the rubbing with 5" of lift? Oh well, i fixed it with some minor trimming.

Good luck

I have an '02 regular-cab five-speed with a rear No-Slip (just installed on Wednesday) and Goodyear MT/Rs in size 245/75R16 (with aftermarket siping). These tires are a little narrower than the stock tires, which were 265/70R16, and I think just a hair smaller in diameter as well, based on GPS readings. The tires feel a bit heavier than the stock tires did, but they don't suck up a bunch of extra power, don't rub (I ripped off a front mud flap with the stock tires), they work really well off-road (I do avoid deep mud), and they help keep the gearing situation reasonable for crawling. I have no plans to lift the truck.

I have a 2001 Xtracab 4x4 and run 265/75/16 Goodyear MT/Rs on it. I have zero rub at all during full turn, during hard wheeling or anything. The only time I ever rubbed on those was when I disconnected the front sway bar and went wheelin.

Thanks guys, every post on here is very useful and I will remember it. Just out of curiosity Dave Dough and anyone else that might know does the extra cab and the standard cab have the exact same clearance?
