wow that looks really cool, I never really thought of CNCing a grill like that, always kinda thought they were strips tacked togeather or something....make sure to post pics of the final product, should look cool in stainless, or you could just pray paint it black for a different look.

yeah i am really happy the way i came out, the only thing is it warped a little cause of the heat buildup, so i am going do some changes and see what that does.

I am not sure what kind of CNC machine it is, as for the brand. I know it is a Plasma Cutter. This is the First thing i have ever done, i am taking a welding class at College and they said that if we drew something then he would cut it out on the Plasma cutter. So i have Autodesk Inventor and i designed a grill, but he couldn't figure out how to cut it. The program was C-Cut, after messing with it for a few hrs i figured out how to cut it. and came out with this.

The only complaints i have, The long sections warped a little due to the heat buildup, so i am going to try and switch the program around to cut out one side then the oppisite side, hoping to cut down the heat buildup.

i am completely new to this stuff, i just built a program and started to mess with it and see what i came out with, i am going to try and make it out of stainless but i am not sure how thick. possibly 1/4?

Back when I was in the Tech Center (CCCTC) I took Drafting I & II and most of our work was done on AutoCad 2000i and I messed around with AutoDesk Inventor 5, drawing wheels and miscellaneous stuff, its pretty cool.

Most of the drawings I do at work is on Autodesk Arch. 3.0, i think it is. The mill we have is a Milltronics Mini Series VM15 Vertical Mill, nothing too big but its gets the job done. I know how to set up for OP's and some of the codes for it but now I'm learning how to program. I wanna try to make a new grille emblem for my truck:welder:the Toyota Symbol with horns, out of Stainless.

IMO i'd go with stainless stock that is 3/8 or bigger and that might reduce flexing under heat...

i know nothing about this stuff, but i think it'd be cool if someone made a emblem for the grill that was designed like the old ones used to be on the 80 models and what not, i think those are pretty sweet

if i design something, i can send it to you in CAD or DXF file, then you could prolly cut it out?
Yea b/c I can send CAD files to MasterCam and then send it to the Mill, For right now the CNC is tied up in a lot of jobs, but im sure i can make time for it. :D

oh and i designed it so that the chrome peice still sits stays there, its going to take some cutting of the stock grill to get it to fit, and also need some way to mount it, but im just trying to get me a clean cut out peice first. then i will figure out how to mount it, i was thinking about welding some tabs to the back of it then screwing it to something, but if you get me an address to send it to i will send ya what i have.
