Have been hearing/reading mixed feedback from members on this site about the durability of the very affordable black steelies from Wheeler's. Just wondering if they are worth purchasing. Are they as cheap as the price is and do they look as cheap as the price is? I drive on a lot of pot-hole infested roads and don;t want to have to worry about denting my rims. Pics and feedback would be great, Thanks everyone.

I have them they are plenty sturdy. They are heavy as any steel wheel is. I have had mine for two years and no problems. I did chip the coating from a wheel weight and it is starting to rust. That is entirely my fault though. Aside from the 30lbs each I am happy with them. I wheel them and drive on NJ's pothole strewn highways. They are as good as new still. If you do bash it on a rock you can kinda bend it back to get home. An alloy wheel wont do that. As far as the price it's nothing special. Most black steelies are about that price. Actually they are Pro Comp rims sold by Wheelers in case you want to check prices. Hope this helps.

I have them but only for the last few weeks. Did some mild and urban offroading with no problems and I think they look cool. I got 285/75/16s on them. You can see my sig for what it looks like.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like they hold up really well. So if I have stock 15" rims, its just a simple swap out/in for the black ProComp(Wheeler's) 16"'s. Just want to be able to fit some 265/75/16's BFG's. You guys happen to have any other pictures of your trucks? Thanks again.

mines in my signature but those are 15" rims, you may want to consider the 15s over the 16s due to 15" tires being considerably cheaper than 16.

Yeah no kidding. 15's are a lot cheaper then 16" tires. I have the black steelies and I love them. They have a LOT of rock rash on them. It's to the point now where getting tires on and off them are a PITA.
