why is the K&N air filter useless on a 3.4? i just ordered a filter kit for mine but haven't installed it yet.Dunk said:The Snorkel itself does not provide horsepower. Its main function is to protect against taking water into the engine. It may....provide colder air intake which might provide more power, but the tubing required to run a snorkel bends through the inside of the trucks quarter panel and connects to a sealed, stock air box. A drop in K&N will help with less restricted flow. The K&N intake is useless for our trucks and especially with the 3.4L engine. With the 2.7L engine Some people say they get more horses but I am skeptical. If you want more horses a header and cat back exhaust will give you what you want and a Supercharger with some fuel mods will yield large horsepower gains. Snorkels are great if you like crossing deep water or racing through mud puddles.
they both provide about the same hp gain...0ikasimali said:Hey Guys

Exactly right I have the FIPK in my truck along with a Borla cat-back and the only difference is when you stomp on it it's louder, especially from under the hoodhytenor said:they both provide about the same hp gain...0
