I have a 98 Tacoma 4x4 Xcab 5 speed and I need a lift, but I need help with it. I almost got a 05 Tacoma, but I decided to wait till I pay more on the boat first, and besides the one I wanted got sold.
I use my truck for everything so till I get the new truck Im not going to lift it much. I use it for work, fishing, hunting, and offroading. Can someone help me with decided a lift and who to install it

Where in Mississippi do you live? www.northwestoffroad.com selling new coils for the frontend that will lift it a 1.5". There are tons of options. If you live close to mobile go to Steve's Offroad he does great work.

Go with OME's up front, and an aal out back since your truck does some towing. If your rear leafs are horribly sagged, skip the aal and buy a new leaf pack.

If you've got an afternoon, and a friend with air tools who can help you with the install as well, you can tackle it yourself. There's not much to it, but I highly suggest air tools for compressing those coils, otherwise don't bother.

Inthe front I have the adjustable Downey coil overs with the Tundra coils for better handle my ARB bumper and winch. So far so good.
In the rear I have the 9 leaf Deaver pack they are great.!! in handling, flexing, etc.
I also have a 3" body lift. With all of these I was able fit 33" tires.
So far I am happy with my lift set up. However, there are many other companies that offer very good lift set ups, some more expensive than others.
It all depends how much money you want to spend and what you want to use your truck for.

for now probably keep the 31s. When I get a new truck I'll get this one and have much bigger than 31s.
