Can someone please answer this simple question? I am going to order the black crager steelies in 15" for a 97 tacoma ext. cab v6 5 spd. Which size do i need so they wont rub on the calipers? Please dont tell me to look in FAQ because it really doesnt tell specifically which size to get for a 97.

Don't look in the FAQ, do a search and I'm pretty sure you will find your answer. I had a set of 15 inch steelies on my rig for a while with no issues. I got them from Summit Racing.

I can tell you this, the 397 (Soft 8) in a 3.75" backspace will NOT clear the calipers on a 97' .. The backspace is not the issue, it's the dimple die holes stamped in the wheel, they stay relative to the mounting surface regardless the backspace. Hope this helps.

Ok.........let me make this simpler. Does summit have a 15" soft 8 black steel wheel that will fit my 97 tacoma without any modification such as spacers? Something I can just slap on and drive away!

Back in 2001, I bought rims and 32" tires for my 97 Tacoma.

Got them from Summit. Looking at the receipt right now.

USW-84-5860 is the model #.

At that time, they were $36.95 each!

Used them for a good year at least, and then I think I sold them to Hytenor, and he either kept the rims or the tires and sold the other, I forget.....so long ago it seems....

they SHOULD, but you never know....your looking at a 4" BS wheel. My tried and tested wheel is 3.75" BS, which means your cragers would sit out an additional .25". Again, it SHOULD work, but you never know until you bolt them on.

I used the US Wheel 5860's. I see now (on summit's website) they are not available, but the 5860L is. Look at the difference...the only thing I see is that the "L" wheels have a note, and that note says "Wheels feature a larger inside diameter to help clear bigger brakes."....which would be even better compared to a standard 5860.

Thanks for all the yseful info. I might go with those usw wheels but I still like the look of the cragers. If I do get the cragers I sould get the 15x7 over the 15x8's? In the hope that there would be a better chance that the 15x7's wont rub?
