I dont get it??? We have like three threads going now on people complaing about MPG. I look at this on two points.
1) Physics - Larger vehicles are going to get less MPG. It takes more engery to move a big rock then it does a small stone. TRUCKS WILL ALWAYS GET LESS MPG THAN A GEO METRO.
2) Who cares about a few hundred bucks a year. You just spent top dollar to get a toyota that your not going to have to dump a bunch of money into, do you really care about 18 bucks a month? Most of us pay more than that for insurance because we drive trucks instead of Volvo's and I have heard very little bitiching because of that?
Just to put it into perspective.
If you drive 15K a year the difference between 17mpg and 20 mpg is 264 dollars a year or 22 bucks a month.
Just to further make the point. My Trucks Averages 18mpg. According to the EPA a Camary averages 26MPG. The difference between 18mpg and 26mpg is 513 in a year. That averages out to 42.75 a month. Most of spend WAY more than that on Mods.
Last point - Cars depreciate at a greater rate than Trucks. A 2000 Taco had a MSRP of 24,378 in 2000. Today that truck has a KBB value of 14,500. A 2000 Camary had an MSRP of 26,198 and today has a KBB vaue of 10,500. Camary lost 59 % of its value and the taco lost 40.5% of its value. So the MPG is COMPLETLY offset by the depreciation. All figures are from Cars.Com
So quit yer bitching!!!
