Wilderness Legislative Update:
Bills moving in California, Washington and Idaho

************
In CALIFORNIA, non-motorized and motorized recreationists alike are growing
increasingly concerned about the Northern California Coastal Wild Heritage
Wilderness Act (S 128/HR 233), a bill that would close many scenic roads and
trails and also ban mountain bikes from over 170 mile of outstanding
single-track trails.

The bill will designate over 300,000 acres of Wilderness and continues to
gather momentum. It now has the support of California's Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger.

Your legislators need to hear from you about this important legislation. To
get contact information go to http://www.sharetrails.org and click on Rapid
Response (near top of the web page) then type in your zip code or call the
Capitol switchboard 202-224-3121.
