Ok, I know what 31-33 blablabla mean. But what the hell does 245-265-285 mean? There is not way that is the metric diameter, because 265mm=26.5cm=about 10" 265cm=around 8' etc

IT DOESN't MAKE SENSE!!!! So how can I put thes numbers into a unit?!

http://www.procomptires.com/tireconversionchart.htm

i like this one b/c it also tells you the width and sidewall height (which you can figure out anyway by subtracting the wheel from the diameter and div. by 2) but i like it mostly for also telling width.

Example:

Tire size: 275/70 R16

"275" is the tire width in millimeters (across the widest part of the tire)

"70" is the aspect ratio of the sidewall height. In this case, the sidewall height is 70% the size of the tire width, or 192.5 mm.

"R" indicates the tire is a radial

"16" is the wheel diameter that the tire fits.

So, for this particular example, the tire is:

275 mm wide (10.9" wide)

31.2" diameter

( wheel diameter: 16"
+
sidewall height: 275 x 70% = 192.5 = 7.6"
+
sidewall height: 275 x 70% = 192.5 = 7.6"
=
31.2")
