I was wondering on a 98 auto V6 4runner whats the most common front diff ratio? I have no vin... (lost the number) .. there was a sticker on the diff but that got ripped off. I will do the spin test tomorrow morning, just wondering whats common thanks

Probably the same as the rear...

Do you have access to the specifications sticker? Gear codes: http://www.tacomaterritory.com/wiki/index.php/Gear_Codes

The VIN is permanently affixed at 2 or more locations on the vehicle.
But what you really want is the axle code from the plate on the firewall.
Get the code and look it up.

Spin the gears and look at the side of the ring gear. Somtimes the ratio is stamped there.

My door jam code is RZN171L-CRMDKAB

C/TR 045 FC40
A/TM

W59

How do I read this?? Is that a 4.56 gear and what does the C stand for. I have a 98 Taco TRD with Factory E-locker. 2.7.

you could only have OE 4.56s with the AT.
you most likely either have 4.10s with that year and the TRD pkg.
check for a BO__ code...probably BO3
